We went to Puerto Galera, a popular tourist destination here every summer for a 3 day and 2 night's vacation. We searched online and found this Beach Resort that fit our budget at time (Resorts are quite expensive when its summer season because it's a peak season). We actually thought that we had a good deal with the room that we got. I mean the room could accommodate at least 8 persons.
It was very large with a dining area, our own living room with plasma TV, complete bathroom amenities and such and the place had its own pool and a bar. However the beach front was a good 5-7 walk from the beach resort and you had to go through some really spooky trees.
The day that we arrived we were quite surprised because the place only had a few visitors just us, a couple and a family that was situated in the first floor while we were the only ones in the 2nd floor. So the day went good we went to the beach and did some activities and had some lunch in one of the cafes there. We went back at around 8pm and decided to have dinner at the resort. After that we drank a little and went to our room at around 10pm. Then all the weird stuff happened while we were preparing to sleep.
Suddenly the door in the bathroom opened there was no draft or breeze. We shrugged it off at first, but at around 2am in the morning while we were sleeping I awoke to my girlfriend screaming. I saw her halfway in the bed. I pulled her up and asked her what happened. She told me that she was dreaming about 3 hooded figures that were trying to pull her away into some dark place when she woke up she felt a pair of hands pull her from under the sheets. I was calming her down when we saw something bump into the window. It looked like a large bird trying to get inside our room from the window. It lasted for about 10 seconds and then it was gone.
We were both scared at that time so what we did was to pull out the pocket bible and say a prayer. While we were praying the bathroom door opened then closed by itself. We had a feeling of dread but as we finished the Lord's Prayer it seemed that every negative feeling in the room disappeared. When dawn broke we went outside and onto the beach and spent the whole day there. (Courtesy:Yourghoststories)
One afternoon, I was in my Algebra class when I felt the need to use the restroom after drinking too much iced tea during our lunch break. I was literally dashing through the hallway to get to the restroom. Even when I was in a hurry, I clearly remember that there was no one inside the rest room. All the cubicles were empty. So after I was done I went to the sink to wash my hands and that's when I heard a voice from one of the cubicles. I thought that was odd because I didn't hear her enter the room. She was asking "Meron bang tao dyan?" (Is anyone there?). Then I asked her what's the problem and she told me she can't get out, the cubicle door was stuck.
The voice was coming from inside the furthest cubicle so I went there. I was already nudging the door when she said "Patulak naman ng pinto, bilis late na kasi ako may klase pa ko" (Can you please push the door, hurry up I'm late for my class). I irritably said "Oo eto na nga" (Okay,I'm already trying) because I was already prying it open. I tried hard, I did, but it wouldn't budge. I told her to make sure that the door is off the latch. Silence. Then she started banging the door. I thought, oh boy, she's really in a hurry to get out. Then the banging stopped. I felt a trickle of sweat roll down my forehead and I was like, okay fine, that's it, I'm going to break this ugly thing. So I asked her to move farther back because I'm going to kick the freaking door and I don't want her to get hurt. She didn't respond. I kicked the door anyway.
I kicked the door hard and it swung open. I was in for the surprise of my life. There's no girl. No one was there. I was staring at an empty cubicle. I was shocked, my mind was in a daze. I heard someone behind me said "Anong nangyari, anong nangyari sa pinto?" (What happened, What happened to the door?) It was the janitress. I told her I kicked it. She asked me why and my mind went into a trance once again. After that, she never asked again.
I was interrogated by the head of the maintenance department. It turned out that I badly broke the flimsy door and the hinges need replacements. I didn't want to sound stupid so I said I was looking for my wallet, it's lame but it's all I could think of. They didn't seem to believe my story but they cut me loose anyway.
After I got out of the office I was heading towards my friends when the janitress approached me. She reminded me of the incident again, she said she heard me talking to someone when she was near approaching the rest room. I knew she didn't believe the wallet alibi. She looked at me in a very weird way and said "Wag mo nang sabihin sa iba, matatakot lang sila" (Don't tell anyone, you'll just scare them). (Courtesy:Yourghoststories)
Sometime in 2003, I just transferred to a new house in a modest subdivision in Davao and living with an officemate. Manny is an outgoing type that usually goes home late in the night or wee hours in the morning. For security purposes, I prefer to double lock the main door and would not mind him waking me up upon his return rather than him using his key. I guess growing up in the metropolis prompted this attitude. So one night he woke me up around 1:00am. He was so drunk that he went straight to his sofa bed. I had the bedroom for myself. He turned on the cassette before retiring to let the music play as he is accustomed to such habit.
As I entered my bedroom, lights from the outside illuminates the surrounding perimeter and my windows are of clear glass, I saw from the adjacent lot which is vacant and a makeshift basketball court of our subdivision, something that I never thought I would see in my entire life. Up on the goal board holding the basketball ring an old lady with white long hair wearing an all black blouse. I couldn't see her lower body part and it seemed that she was suspended in the air. She had fangs and as if she is sniffing the air looking for something. She didn't look that scary at first glance but when I realized what she was it scared me so much that I woke up my officemate so I would have someone who would witness it too. As I went to where my officemate was sleeping, the door closed automatically due to the hydrolic attachments. It made a significant thud and when I looked back at the "thing" she was gone.
The following morning I heard that one of our neighbor who was pregnant was rushed to the hospital around 2:00am and had a miscarriage. (Courtesy: Yourghoststories)
Her husband died during an operation. He was having brain surgery. He died leaving my aunt and 2 children, a 4 year old son and a 1 year old daughter.
It was past 5pm when my aunt asked her son to look after his younger sister who was lying on the "papag" wooden bed because she had to cook their dinner. After a few minutes of cooking my aunt saw her son playing with his toy cars, leaving his little ion her on own lying in the papag.
My aunt asked her son why he left his younger sister on her own and what if she fell from the papag?" her son replied "Ma don't worry, she will not fall down from the papag". My aunt told him to go back and take care of his sister. Her son replied back again, "no need to go back there, don't worry mama "PAPA" is there taking care of my sister." My aunt was shocked when her son said this. She hurried to the papag to check on her daugther and when she looked at her daughter, her daughter was smiling and it was like there was someone taking care her and playing with her. My aunt thought that the ghost of his deceased husband was taking care of her.
Another story is that every time her 4 year old son goes to the bathroom, he comes out with lots of 5 peso coins and when my aunt asks where did you get that money? Her son always reply "Papa gave it to me".
I saw him one time when he went to the bathroom. There was nothing in his hands when he came out he had two pieces of 5 peso coins. I asked, where did you get the coins? He replied "papa is there inside and he gave it to me". (Courtesy: Yourghoststories)
In 2001, right after the Gloria Macapagal Arroyo Administration assumed office in Malacanang Palace in Manila, a couple of us Information Officers from attached agencies of the former Office of the Press Secretary were detailed to our tour of duty at the palace's Press office.
Our group comprised what was then known as the Operations Center. We were directly involved in several information related requirements of the President's travel and state visit plans. We were also involved in the President's Media Interaction team, and the Palace's News Desk. Suffice it to say, we work the clock 24/7. We were provided with food and accommodation so none of us have to go home every day. We were each given our own weekly two-days off to see our families, feed our pets, do our laundries and pay the bills. After which, we go back to the palace and stay for five days.
Our assigned sleeping quarter was at the "right tower" of the Arlegui Guest House - the same house where Presidents Cory Aquino, Fidel Ramos and Joseph Estrada stayed during their term as presidents. The right tower is accessed through the bedroom that was once occupied by Presidential daughter, and media personality Kris Aquino. At that time, the bedroom was designated as the official receiving room of the Press Secretary.
Because the office is scheduled to operate 24 hours a day, we worked in shifts. So it is normal to find three or four people working at the staff area during the night shift, while the rest (often three or four people or less) are found snoring in the sleeping quarters.
Within the six months that we've stayed in the said area, every one of us had a story to tell, and all of them bordered on the creepy. But one night stood out for me and my friend, Hazel, who was also our media placement officer. It was eleven PM, and we were waiting for the arrival of the night shift people. Hazel was doing the wrap ups on her reports, and I was preparing to brush my teeth. Upstairs, in the tower, our errand boy, Rey, was already asleep.
There was nothing out of the ordinary until my eyes caught the curtain that leads to the balcony. It was parted, as if someone was standing there and holding the curtains apart with his hands, only no one was there, and there was nothing to hold the curtains open like that. Like I said - it seemed like nothing if I hadn't focused on it. I had no idea how long it had been like that, but I knew it shouldn't be like that because the glass door leading to the balcony was closed.
I felt like my head grew to three times its normal size. Especially when the curtains closed as if suddenly released. I told Hazel that we should hurry up and go upstairs. Hazel must have sensed that I was nervous because her eyes registered concern.
Once we got to the tower, Hazel asked me what it was that bothered me, so I told her. We decided that it would be better to just sleep and let the night shift staff deal with whatever it was there was downstairs. While we were trying to sleep, I could distinctly hear the muffled sound of a ball softly bouncing on the wooden floor boards of the office below us. I looked at Hazel in the dark to see if she's awake, and I saw her staring back at me. I knew then that she could hear the same bouncing sound I was hearing.
Although I wasn't sleepy, and my mind was highly alert, I closed my eyes and covered my face with my blanket. I don't know how long I had stayed that way, and I don't recall falling asleep. But suddenly, I felt Hazel jumping into my side of the bed and screaming, "They're here! They're here!" That jolted me up, and I turned to her to see what the hell was going on.
She was on her side of the bed, wide awake, and perfectly still.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
What was I supposed to say? So I lay down again. And since I wasn't sleepy, I didn't bother to close my eyes. I focused instead on the sound of Rey's rhythmic snoring.
And then, it happened again. Hazel jumping on my side of the bed and screaming, 'They're here! They're here!"
I turned, and there was - Hazel, her eyes closed, but I could tell she was awake.
I stared at her a little longer just to make sure she wasn't going crazy (because if she was, then that would ease my mind of my own suspicion that I was going crazy.)
Hazel's eyes fluttered wide open, and she was staring right in front of her. There was no fear in her eyes. Not even confusion. She sat up, looked at me and Rey for a while, before she lay down again.
I turned away, and the same thing happened two more times - her suddenly jumping on my side of the bed and screaming, "They're here, they're here," or at least, I believed it happened that way. But every time I'd turn around to look at here, she'd be on her side of the bed, lying quietly on her side and very much awake.
As I believed I was very much awake.
Finally, it was 4 am, and both of us were still awake, though very quiet and still. We didn't talk at all through that whole thing. I told her I had to go down to read through the day's issues in the morning papers. She nodded her head and I left her sitting on her side of the bed, still very quiet. And Rey was still snoring on his bed.
Downstairs, only two of the normally four night-shifters reported, and they were busy going through the e-mails and online news. I asked them what time they punched in. One of them said he punched in at fifteen after twelve, while the other guy said he punched it at around quarter before one.
It didn't seem like they noticed anything out of the ordinary, and I didn't bother to ask.
I did what I had to do, and wrote my reports (ratio of bad news vis-à-vis good news) and that day being a Saturday, and since it was still early (six-thirty in the morning) I decided to go back up to the tower to sleep off the remainder of the morning. Rey was already up and fixing his bed, while Hazel was still awake and yawning, and finally feeling sleepy. But on my way up, I caught the last part of the story that Rey was telling Hazel. According to him, he was awakened several times during the night by my jumping into his bed and screaming, "They're here! They're here!" But every time he'd look at me, he'd see me on my side of the bed, and lying perfectly still, while hazel is seated on her side and looking at both of us. Rey said it was a very creepy night for him.
After Rey went down for coffee, I told Hazel my side of the story. And I felt it, like there was this solid thing between us. I sensed that Hazel also had her own story to tell. She did.
She said she heard the muffled sound of a ball bouncing on the wooden floor boards, and the giggling of two children down at the office. Then she heard people chatting downstairs, around seven or nine of them, and how these people suddenly decided to go up to the tower. She said she could hear their foot steps going up for what seemed like several minutes, but they never seem to reach the landing (one could reach the tower in less that seven seconds. The spiral metal stairs that lead up to it has 12 steps). Then suddenly, they were there, walking around the beds, and she found herself opening her eyes, and realizing that no one was there, except for the three of us.
She insisted that she was wide awake the whole time, and that she never closed her eyes at any point. She said she was too nervous to close her eyes. (Courtesy: Yourghoststories)
This happened a few years back. It was around 3am and I was taking my ex-girlfriend home. The road going to their house is very poorly lit and if you walk there at night without any lights...it's close to pitch black dark. So along that road, we were just traveling at a relatively slow speed. Being a defensive driver, I'd look at my side mirrors and rear view mirror every now and then just to check my surroundings.
To my horror, when I looked at my rear view mirror, there she was; sitting at our van's rear seat looking straight at me with blood shot red eyes full of anger and hatred with blood dripping down from the corner of her eyes. She was pale white and her hair was long and all messed up. (If I was to translate the way she looked at me, it would say "I'm going to kill you!" - Yes - that scary). Usually, when I see spirits, I would just glance away and when I look back, they would disappear and I would just go on with whatever it was I was doing. So I did just that. I glanced away, looked straight at the road, and looked back at my rear view mirror. And guess what, she was still there! This now freaked me out... I glanced away and looked back a third time... And finally she was gone so I proceeded to drive.
On my way back home when I reached the same road the white lady hitched a ride; I tried to reach out to her... And said that I mean her no harm and that maybe I could help. If she was murdered, raped or what not, as long as she communicates with me without that scary look and blood shot red eyes then I may be able to help her. Fortunately, she didn't show up...whew...
As I got home, I saw a quick movement, as if something, or someone moved extremely fast and all I could see was a blurry figure. I then said, "Ok, I guess you just needed a ride... So you're happy, I'm happy, everybody's happy", trying to joke around to take away the fear. And after parking the car, when I was about to go out, someone... Or something... Pulled the door open for me really wide open! And the next thing I know, I was already in my room under the bed sheets praying "Our father..." (Courtesy:yourghoststories)
One night I suddenly fell asleep. The last thing I remember I was laying on the floor with my wife and my three year old son. We have a bed but can only accommodate a kid and an adult. Two adults will require the other to lie on his side to fit in the bed. We usually chose to sleep on the floor but we set mats on to keep the coldness of the floor from our backs.
Our bed is situated beside the window, often I don't feel comfortable sleeping there because I'm always thinking that something might just wake me up one night reaching me through the windows and it always creeps me out to sleep beside the window.
I woke up in my dream, a very clam dream. I was in an unfamiliar place just roaming around. Everything was peaceful in my dream, until I suddenly thought about Jesus. A strong emotion covered my entire soul. I wanted to praise him and pray to him and speak to him because of how great he is, how wonderful he is and how good he is. Just when I pronounced "Jesus of Nazareth", I was an awoken by an unknown force pressing me down against my bed.
I woke up facing the bed, and that presence was as if sitting on my upper back and paralyzing my upper body, except for my head, because I was fully awake and I was turning my head trying to get a glimpse of whatever that was behind me. I can see my kid and wife on the floor. I was struggling very hard to free myself from it. I let my mind work to figure out a way to get out of this hell.
The first thing that got in my mind was to get the attention of my wife who was sleeping at that very moment. I found it very hard to speak. I can't make a sound from my mouth. What I did was I tried to move some parts of my body. I realized that I can move my legs, my legs are strong because I always go biking, and then I realized that my kid had scattered his toys on the bed at the bottom where my legs were.
I started kicking of all those toys as hard as I can. And it all started dropping on the floor and made noises that awoken my wife, and this the most interesting part, as soon as my wife called up my name, I was able to move my whole body and gained my strength back, it's as if whatever that thing on my back got scared and vanished.
Another ordeal came because my wife got angry and yelling why did I kick those toys for. I made her calm down and told her that I will tell in the morning. I lay beside her and slept. In the morning I was asking myself how I got on the bed while I can clearly remember that I fell asleep with my wife and kid on the floor. And I was even the first one to fall asleep. And my wife even confirmed that I fell asleep on the floor with them. (Courtesy:yourghoststories)
